Hi! Welcome to Kenpo Karate: Martial Arts Theory, Practice and Philosophy. My mission is to enlighten those interested in martial arts, specifically kenpo karate, and provide techniques, katas, videos and more.

My mission is to provide easy to understand posts and guide readers in the ways of kenpo karate and martial arts philosophy. Many would say that kenpo karate and other martial arts are sports. While martial arts is a good way to keep in shape and also has numerous competitions that are gaining mass popularity (mixed martial arts), martial arts are also a spiritual journey.

Martial artists gain a firmer understanding of themselves. They learn what their body can and can't do as well as learn how to push their bodies to the max. Martial artists also develop their minds to perceive and overtake any obstacle. And kenpo karate martial artists learn about the origins of their art as well.

Though this blog does focus on kenpo karate, I love all martial arts and will write posts on various arts. Also I read a lot of books so don't be surprised if a review ends up here over any relevant material. As you can see from the top, I have a couple of products that I have reviewed on my blog. These are books and entertainment as well as equipment that I have found to be first rate.

Me? I'm a black belt with over ten years of martial arts under my belt (pun intended). I have studied kenpo, taekwondo, hapkido, ninjutsu and some kung fu styles. I'm not a master, but I do enjoy a good sparring match with any competitor.
